FAQ : Windows XP New DSL Connection

The following instructions will guide you through configuring your Windows XP computer for a new direct DSL connection.

Windows XP

The following steps pertain to DSL customers who connect their computer directly to the DSL Modem.


1. Click the Start button at the lower left-hand corner of your screen and select the Control Panel.


2. Choose the Network and Internet Connections option.


3. Choose the Network Connections option.


4. Right-click the Local Area Connection and select Properties.


5. Scroll down the window and select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) then click Properties.


6. Choose Use the following IP Address and fill in the IP Address Information provided to you by an IP Global.Net technician. Then Select Use the following DNS server addresses: and duplicate the settings below.


7. Click OK twice to return to the Local Area Connection Window and your IP Information is now configured
